The Sparrow Centre

As a compassionate Church we share our resources to care for others and lift them from poverty and injustice

The Sparrow Centre is a place of Dignity and Hope which houses the compassion projects of Antrim Coast Vineyard which serve our local community

“Yet not one Sparrow will fall to the ground outside of the Father’s care.” Matthew 10:29

Refresh Hygiene store

ReFresh our hygiene store is stocked with a wide selection of basic toiletries and laundry products. We also keep a small stock of nappies and baby products when they are available.

We believe everyone has the right to access whatever products they need to keep clean, safe and well, and with an emphasis on dignity, ReFresh also provides items such as haircare, skincare and makeup products.

The Sparrow Centre is completely staffed by volunteers and open at different times during the week. During opening hours, visitors are invited to pick up items they need, free of charge. Affording dignity means our service is on a non-referral basis; we have a Visitor Agreement in place to ensure fairness for all.

Our volunteers also provide space for a cuppa and a listening ear; we are a welcoming place of Dignity and Hope for our community.

HOW TO DONATE

ReFresh is stocked by donations, from community, friends and supporters – people who are passionate about working together to provide accessible spaces of dignity and hope.

Trolley: our trolley is available to donate single items during opening hours, and in our Church building every Sunday 10.30am-12.30pm

Voucher: we often buy good quality items from Boots.Com – you can purchase a gift card in store or e-card online here: https://www.boots.com/gift/gift-cards

Amazon: we have a Refresh Hygiene Store Shopping List on Amazon; simply choose an item and add it to your basket:  https://amzn.eu/ek67mUH

Online: a financial gift which really helps us towards the different running costs, and enables us to purchase reduced-cost toiletries from our partner In Kind Direct. Head over to the giving section, or click the button below:

visitor agreement

Please take time to read our Visitor Agreement. This is a verbal agreement based on mutual respect and trust between our visitors and our volunteers:

*I can take toiletry items for myself and those in my own household

*I can take one of each item per visit (eg; one deodorant, one toothpaste) up to a maximum of 20 items per visit

*I just take what I need to ensure that others can benefit from the service

*I can visit The Sparrow Centre up to two times per calendar month

Donate Online

We are so grateful for financial donations for The Sparrow Centre, as these can be used towards the different running costs of keeping Refresh open.

We also partner with In Kind Direct, a charity that works to ensure everyone has access to the products they need to keep clean, safe and well. With your financial donations, we are able to purchase products they supply at reduced rates which enables our funds to go further and provide essential toiletry items to families, so they don’t have to go without.

If you would like to give in this way, please click the ‘Give Online’ button below to make a donation, using ‘The Sparrow Centre’ as your choice of fund.

Thank you for your generosity.
